The answer for a healthier planet is invisible

The answer for a healthier planet is invisible

I’m sure you, like a lot of people, worry about the future of our planet. In the face of climate change and its consequences, waves of social media posts say that “we must act now”. Well, they are right, you must act now, but you often don’t know how.

I get it. I know the feeling very well.

But the answeryet invisible to your eyes—might be closer than you think.

Microscopic organisms like microalgae have so many applications and use in your everyday lives, you don’t even realize. Beer, facial creams, ice cream, toothpaste, and so many others.

But where in the world can you grow algae? Or microalgae?

Microalgae can be cultivated in several locations, under different conditions, from ice to the desert. Species of microalgae are endless, and they are considered a powerful tool against climate change.

They provide:

  • Carbon dioxide sequestration
  • Efficient use of farming areas
  • Non-use of arable lands

On top of these environmental benefits, microalgae is also good for your health. They have a unique nutritional value that includes:

  • High protein levels
  • Sustainable sources of omega-3 fatty acids
  • Vitamins (B12, D or K)
  • Minerals and other bioactive compounds

The world population is growing and is set to keep on growing. Not only you, but the entire world will need sustainable sources of high-quality food and protein. And water and land are scarce.

Microalgae show enormous potential to change the way people grow food and the way we eat for the better. So, next time you see a post about climate change actions, you'll know where to look.
